Customer service at Aplus is pretty much non-existent. Whether you have a minor issue OR your website is completely down, they have the same standard response over the phone - "we will get back to you in 24-48 hours". Which they never ever do.
No one even bothers to look at a support issue with any level of seriousness. No matter how you respond to a wrongly closed ticket, different support people simply copy and paste the exact same resolution into the ticket and keep closing it. Manager? Forget about it. More promises of call-backs that never materialize.
Stay away from this company if you are running even a semi-serious company/business.
Their customer Service is just a scam with nothing behind it. Although I do not keep my billing details in my account so I wont be autobilled, somehow they auto billed me and took all the money I had out of my bank during a pandemic and during a time when unemployment is cut off and we are penniless!!!?!? I had written to them a week ahead saying that I could not pay to renew my LegendsofPunk.com website, they responded but took the money anyway!!! FIND ANOTHER HOSTING SERVICE!
This hosting service is really bad. The chat service I think was hosted by a robot. It just generated polite phrases and that admin would be contracting you. They never did. Phone support takes forever to get someone, and then when you get them they are not technical, and speak broken English. My problem was updating my web pages. They only updated the first upload. After that it took perhaps 12 hours to see any changes. Looks like they are limiting changes on purpose.
May, they dropped at least one server, losing all our emails, with no back up. For two weeks, end of May to early June, they had issues with Microsoft blocking all emails and now this week having emails blocked again: (reason: 550 5.7.1 Unfortunately, messages from [188.8.131.52] weren't sent. Please contact your Internet ...ail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx#errors. [VI1EUR06FT019.eop-eur06.prod.protection.outlook.com]) Getting very old - so almost two months with unreliable emails. They also host our website.
Haven't had email for 4 days now! They have no telephone customer service, which is totally ridiculous and their Chat is with a 4th world country where English is almost non existent! I emailed them but if I don't have email service it's for naught!
Been with APlus.net and predecessors since the 1990's
I see mostly very negative reviews for APlus. They seem to be mostly from novice users who want wordpress like sites to geeks who want bleeding edge tech. We have been using APlus and the predecessors for some 20 years. We have had maybe 5 hours downtime and no major issues. APlus may not be great, but for us it has proven to be 99.9% reliable and extremely cheap ($9.00 month legacy plan for 8 active websites). The only issue is that they offer premium Comodo SSL certificates, which makes it more expensive for https (typically $90 a year). The good part to the Comodo certs is that they include lots of extras not available with plain vanilla ssl.
We have been with Aplus for many many years. They USED to have great support 5 years ago. Now, it is a complete disaster. Theiur support is pretty much non-existent. Every call elicits the same response - we will get back to you in 24-48 hours. And after THAT, they don't get back for 4-5 days. If your website is down, too bad - they will "create a ticket and get back". It is a complete scam. Stay away.
My website suffered extremely low load times on Aplus.net servers. I suffered terrible customer support from technicians who were unresponsive or incompetent. Finally switched hosts. Aplus.net refused to refund unused payment, insisting that they should be paid for their incompetence. They refused to tell me where they were incorporated when I threatened to complained to the state Attorney General.
I would strongly advise against using APlus.net as a host or domain provider. They are the worst! There user admin area is very hard to navigate and you can't do all that you need to do without their help which usually amounts to just using chat because their phone support is only open Mon through Fri 9 to 9.
